It is a moment of great celebration and pride for the International Society of Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgeons as its official journal, the Global Journal of Cataract Surgery and Research in Ophthalmology (GJCSRO) has been indexed in Excerpta Medica dataBASE (EMBASE) and Excerpta Medica CARE (EMCARE). It is also recognised by the National Medical Council of India.
This has added value to our journal and will go a long way, since GJCSRO will now be recognised on a global platform with enhanced visibility. We are grateful to all those who placed their faith in our journal and submitted their articles to us, before the indexing. Had it not been for their submissions it would have been difficult to progress this far.
The efforts put in by the Editorial Team, which is the backbone of any journal, generally goes without acknowledgement. I take this opportunity to thank the entire team for their guidance and support in taking the journal to this level and we are very confident that the same will continue for years to come. I foresee a very bright future for our journal.
To facilitate more and more doctors accept and adopt the manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS), we need more publications and strong evidence in favour of MSICS. GJCSRO is also committed to enhance the skill of research and publication of its members. To fulfil this aim, we have designed and planned a specialised course. This course will dwell on the basics as well as the advanced intricacies of the subject, which will be conducted on a regular basis.
You will be happy to know that the current issue is woman-centric, as all the articles are authored by women, exclusively. I am sure it will be a very interesting and educative issue.
I expect that the journal will achieve many more milestones in the years to come.
